Do you think that when people use the word “should” in a sentence it is reflecting a belief they have that is not actually theirs?
For example, when you are telling someone they “should” do something, you are projecting a belief you have onto them. Alternatively, if someone is saying I “should” do this or that, they are taking on a belief of another person.

For me, when I hear this word in a sentence, it’s like a trigger for me to step back and think, is this my belief or the belief of someone else. I always try to stop and think about it.
