Do you ever feel not quite yourself, or feel a little bit down and wonder “What is wrong with me?”.  Your answer to this is probably yes, I think we all go through this at one time or another.  The thing is, often there really is nothing wrong with you.

The biggest thing that might be “wrong” is you thinking that something is wrong with you.  You may feel extra tired for a few days, or feel a little bit melancholy, or unmotivated.  Its unfortunate, but this can often snowball and turn into something it doesn’t need to be.

Full Moon Hawk

How you can go from feeling a little Blah, to full blown Depression:

1.  You start out feeling different than you normally do (in a way that you or society would say is ‘bad’).

2.  Then you start to think “something is wrong with me”.

3.  Then that thought snowballs, and you start trying to figure out what is ‘wrong’.

4.  In trying to figure out what is wrong, you focus on things in your life that are negative, and begin to wonder which of these negative things could be impacting you.

5.  As you focus on these things, you start to feel worse.

6.  As you start to feel worse you really really begin to wonder what’s wrong with you.

7.  Keep repeating this list until the ‘snowball’ is so big that it is hard to stop.

In society, you are expected to project perfection most of the time.  On television you see it, on social media you see it and you maybe project it, your co-workers, your neighbours… all the time, it is either “We are super-people”, or “we are sick” or “we are depressed”.  It seems like these are the only three things we are allowed to show.  Because unless you are sick or clinically depressed, you better be ‘super human’.

There are a whole bunch of other things you can feel at any given time, but you have forgotten about them.  You are allowed to relax and just feel blah once in a while ya know.  We all do it.  Maybe its time that you start allowing it to happen periodically.Where you need to be

Sometimes it could be just a Full Moon (like today’s), or hormone changes, barometer changes, fatigue, something you ate, the list of things that can impact your mood or energy is pretty much endless.  What if you just try letting it go and see how you feel tomorrow?  Maybe you are fighting a bug or you are meant to just stay home tonight for some reason.

There are exceptions to everything, and no, you don’t want to get stuck in a funk.  BUT, if you allow yourself to have different moods and feelings, and do what it feels like your soul needs on any given day, you will feel better.  Tomorrow is another day.  You can get off your butt and be ‘super human’ tomorrow.

Stop asking the question “What is wrong with me?”  It rarely turns out in a way that makes you feel any better.
