If you are “average” and you set a new year resolution, chances are you have given it up by now. Sounds kind of depressing doesn’t it? Don’t despair though, you will get what you want, maybe its just not in January 2015. You probably just made the resolution because it was the “thing to do”, not because it was something you decided on.
I don’t set resolutions myself. I usually just do something, or I don’t.
I figure if I make a resolution, and tell everyone, then I will feel as if they will all be telling me what to do, and I hate being told what to do. Or, worse yet, by now, if I wasn’t really “into” what I “resoluted” (okay, so that is not a real word, but its working for me), I would feel like a failure by now.
I know that I am not normal as far as how we are all told to set goals, and make things happen, but I just can’t bring myself to be like everyone else. 🙂
When I want to make a change for myself, I just decide. Everything is energy, and intention is everything, so if I decide it, its as good as done anyway. If I don’t do it, or if I haven’t succeeded at it, then I never decided.
Some people in my life say I take forever to decide on things. Or they accuse me of being non-committal. They are right. I am pretty convinced that when I decide ~ that’s it, its done. I do what I say I’m going to do, and if I have not decided 100% for sure, I don’t say it or commit to it.
I am getting better at deciding with practice though, I can now (usually) actually decide what to get to eat at a restaurant in under 5 minutes.
All success is just a decision away, whether it is January 1st, or March 12th or November 3rd.
Yes, there comes a time in everyone’s life that they will need to make a decision about something. If you don’t you will either stay stuck where you are, or the people and circumstances in your life will decide FOR you (YUCK!!).
Just wanted to let you know, that if you made a resolution, and have given it up by now, you are not alone, and you should not be bashing yourself about it. You weren’t ready. Remember, success is just a decision away, if you had really decided, for yourself, and meant it, the Universe would have rallied around you and helped you to make it happen.

Yeah I hear ya. It really makes no difference when you set a resolution. It can be any day of the year. The important thing is making a decision.
I actually do like taking some time in late December to reflect back on the previous year, and to check in with my intuition and to think about which areas of my life I want to put more focus on in the new year.
It’s not so much your typical new year’s resolution per-se, but rather just setting a focus and gaining more clarity on what I want.
